As we approach the centenary of the Balfour Declaration in November 2017, you are invited to join us for a lecture investigating “Why the British Initiated the Balfour Declaration?”

Together with The Maccabaeans, we invite you to hear Ben-Gurion University historian Natan Aridan who will explore the motivation and rationale for the Balfour Declaration.  Discover why the government of the day supported Lord Rothschild’s appeal to establish a national home for the Jewish people.

Dr. Natan Aridan is a researcher at the Ben-Gurion Research Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism, at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He has been a member of the Institute since he made Aliyah from Britain in 1980 having received a grant from the Ben-Gurion University Foundation to study at the university.
