High Level Delegation from Rafael Visits BGU

A delegation of senior management from Rafael Advanced Defence Systems led by Board Chair Dr. Uzi Landau visited Ben-Gurion University of the Negev on Tuesday. The visit was the first since the company announced in September that it would be opening an R&D centre at the Advanced Technologies Park (ATP) adjacent to the University.

Dr. Landau was hosted by BGU Vice President and Dean for R&D Prof. Dan Blumberg. They visited Prof. Hugo Guterman's Laboratory for Autonomous Robotics before heading to the ATP to meet with BGN Technologies CEO Netta Cohen and BGN Senior VP Business Development - Exact Sciences & Engineering Zafrir Levy.

The ATP is a unique endeavor to increase research cooperation with industry, employment opportunities for BGU graduates and create a collaborative ecosystem. The ATP is a joint initiative of BGU, the Beer-Sheva Municipality, Gav Yam Negev and KUD International.

Rafael is seeking more high quality manpower and has embarked on an ambitious expansion plan.

Rafael develops land, sea, and air-based advanced defence systems and employs 7,500 people, 65% of whom have academic degrees, including 300 with PhDs.
